Help the Swimming Kids Go to School

I posted a story on the Yellow Boat of Hope a few months ago. It was when the ‘swimming kids’ of Layag-layag, in Zamboanga first got their boat, Bagong Pag-asa (New Hope).

Only five months had passed, the people behind the Zamboanga Funds for Little Kids are not only helping those in Zamboanga, but they’ve also built boats in Masbate for kids swimming to school.

But it doesn’t stop there. ‘Fire starter’ Jay Jaboneta has spread the ‘yellow boat fever’ throughout the Philippines. Jay, together with big-hearted volunteers, are looking still looking for communities all over the country where kids swim to school. And they intend to build more boats.

“We really feel its important that we as citizens become active participants in nation-building and become part of the solution. It’s the only way our country can move forward. And of course, these kids are the future of our country, its important we equip them with the right tools and knowledge,” Jay wrote on his blog.

Inspiring, isn’t it?  I know you want to take part in this worthy cause. So here’s how you can help.
